What You Will Learn

Tulong Trabaho Program

The Tulong Trabaho Scholarship Program is a TESOL certification program conducted in partnership with TESDA. Qualified applicants will receive a TESOL certificate free of charge after accomplishing all modules. The program covers competencies that participants must manifest to competently and confidently follow an internationally recognized curriculum to teach English to learners who are non-native speakers of the language.

Performing Computer Operations

Understand and apply computer functions such as data input, information access, output production, internet browser use, equipment and systems maintenance to effectively teach students online.

Applying English Language Theories And Principles

Demonstrate knowledge on theories in first and second language acquisition to be able to explain a learner’s acquired language proficiency and communicative competence, thus leading to an evaluation of factors in English language development that define the guiding principles of teaching English effectively.

Managing Classrooms

Demonstrate understanding of your role in classroom management by determining English learning contexts and creating a classroom management plan for diverse English language learners to accommodate every type of learner in the classroom.

Asking The Right Questions

Facilitate engagement and critical learning among English language learners by applying principles of Bloom’s taxonomy to create questions useful for effective implementation of a lesson outline in an English language learning class.

Teaching Listening

Demonstrate understanding of the two views on listening by evaluating voice samples and creating a teaching plan that reflects the appropriate approaches and strategies on listening.

Teaching Speaking

Demonstrate understanding of current issues and views on teaching speaking by applying its principles on sample lessons or activities and creating a teaching plan that reflects the appropriate approaches and strategies on listening.

Teaching Reading

Demonstrate understanding of the models for teaching reading by evaluating selected sample reading materials and creating a teaching plan for reading curated for an English language learner belonging to a beginner or intermediate level.

Teaching Writing

Demonstrate understanding of the approaches to teaching writing by evaluating selected sample writing materials and creating a teaching plan for writing curated for an English language learner belonging to a beginner or intermediate level.

Teaching Grammar

Demonstrate understanding of various views on grammar by evaluating selected sample materials on grammar and creating tasks that apply principles on teaching grammar.

Teaching Vocabulary

Demonstrate understanding of significance in vocabulary learning towards the overall English proficiency development of learners by evaluating activities that facilitate vocabulary learning and creating tasks that apply its principles.

Teaching Pronunciation

Demonstrate understanding of teaching pronunciation by evaluating activities that facilitate English pronunciation proficiency and creating tasks that apply its principles.

Teaching English Online

Demonstrate understanding of the evolution in online English teaching by selecting strategies to manage challenges in online class facilitation and creating a self-assessment plan to build a career in online English teaching.
